Fun at the Wisconsin Dells 2012

We took a short weekend trip to the Wisconsin Dells and had lots of fun!

It was a long walk to some of the water parks.

Holding hands helped a few times!

They loved the deer park!

She was shouting words of encouragement to preston here...

Preston had quite a few followers throughout the park...he was loaded with "Nacks" at all times.

He liked the little ones the best.

Peighton remembered the go-carts from last year and of course we had to do them again!

Dustin got a turn on the mini carts because there was no one else to race against peighton!

She squealed the whole time....and leaned over at one point and told me "this is what I do on the waterslides!!!!!"

Preston liked the Wisconsin Ducks ride!

Preston made himself at home on the mini golf course and tried out the dinosaur eggs...

We tried very hard to pose these two....it wasn't going so well at this point.

But then they decided they liked each other!

Lots of water park fun!

They all enjoyed the wave pool a few times.

Preston loved climbing on all the stuff in the kiddie areas.

Spiderweb Pancakes

Friday mornings are pretty fun at our house.

We don't have school or dance or gymnastics or anything really!

So, that means we get up and make something fun for breakfast and stay in our jammies for awhile.

Peighton loves it and I think we both look forward to it.

Today, we tried out spiderweb pancakes!

Super simple and super fun!

I've seen it all around "blog-land" lately so I don't really know who thought it up but that was one smart mama!

I even saw one picture using a plastic spider on top of the pancakes! CUTE!

Wish we had some spiders!!!

We dyed our pancake batter orange with food coloring.

Then we had some random green glittery squeeze frosting in the pantry so of course that's what Peighton chose.

It worked out pretty good.

I also tried out Hershey's syrup.

Peighton approved of both and liked helping do the spiderwebs!

Preston also thought they were pretty good and had eaten most of his by the time I got the camera!

Fridays are FUN at our house!

What a fun fall week!

The weather has gotten COLD this week here in Iowa!

Which means lots of falling leaves and pumpkins and combine rides!

We love Fall!

Here's some fun from our week:

My  mom spent lots of time raking and raking so Peighton and Preston could have some fun!

Peighton jumped right into the leaves with lots of giggles!

Preston was not quite as quick to jump in and watched his big sis for a bit.

 It didn't take long for him to get in there though!

Even Zoe liked the leaves.

After he got in, of course he didn't want to get out!

He just made a little nest and rolled around for awhile.

There were a few times he may or may not have been buried in the leaves and had to be rescued...

That afternoon we moved onto pumpkin carving.

Preston was weight lifting here.

And Mac thought he had to help too.

Preston was quite a good little pumpkin carver!

Such a great day with lots of Fall fun!

Long after the leaves blow away the giggles and laughter of this day will be remembered.



Mini Doughnuts!

So, I bought a mini doughnut maker.

Yep, I did.

We've been having LOTS of fun trying out our cute little doughnuts lately!

Our first try was of course Chocolate.

It only took 4 minutes for them to be done!
And look how they are BAKED, not fried!

I also reduced the fat even further by replacing half the oil with applesauce....you'd never be able to tell!

So, really these doughnuts are totally healthy!!!!! ;-)

Who doesn't love fresh hot doughnuts!

I made a standard powdered sugar frosting, but instead of adding plain old milk...we added some of my Almond Joy coffee creamer.

That might have been the best idea I've had in a long time!

Seriously, like little bites of heaven.

I had a very happy little taste tester!

Apple Spice doughnuts are up next!

August Fun!

Where has the summer gone?!?

I think we've been so busy having fun that it has gotten away from us.

Here's a few things we've done in August.

Preston decided sweet corn is AWESOME.

He loves it.

We went to the great Iowa State Fair and found the Pioneer cow!

Peighton got the be a farmer at Little Hands On the Farm.

Complete with Pioneer hat!

And today, my sweet baby girl went to Pre-Kindergarten for her first day.

She was SUPER excited.

Preston really had no time for pictures this morning...

I can't wait to hear all about her day!

She even has her own locker.

I've been sneaking in a little crafty time here and there but we haven't been home much lately!

Hopefully I will have more time as the weather gets colder!
