It was a GREAT first county fair!

This past week was Peighton's first official county fair.

It was a hot one but it sure was a good one!

We all had lots of fun and made lots of wonderful memories.
And some of us have never sweated that much in our entire lives!!!!!

Our first event was Clothing Selection.
We had fun shopping for a sleeveless collared shirt that can be worn for fun and also for livestock shows!
She ended the day winning the junior division!

Then we were at Dallmeyer Hall bright and early for non-livestock judging.
The judge LOVED her Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie.
She would have sent it to the State Fair if Peighton had been eligible...maybe next year!
She did get an honorable mention for it though.

Getting her sewing projects judged.

She did  a great job getting all of her 13 projects judged.
She ended the day with 7 purple honorable mentions, 5 blues and 1 red.

Tuesday afternoon was the breeding heifer show.

Peighton and her favorite girl, Anastasia, took Champion Hereford!

She was super excited to get a trophy.

Giving her girl some love.

Peighton and Cinderella ended up with Reserve Champion Simmental heifer.

Then they were back in for the Championship drive.

Peighton got 5th Overall Breeding Heifer.
She was the only red one in the top 5.
Peighton loves her red calves!

The cheering section.

She had a great day showing her girls!

Then we were off and running for the pig show on Wednesday.
Peighton and Duke took champion Duroc.

She won Reserve Champion Purebred and also took Reserve in the junior showmanship division.

The showmanship makes all of us the most proud of all of her awards...we lovingly call her "Rickie Bobbie" from the movie Talledega Nights....The character, Rickie Bobbie, is always shouting, "If you're not first, you're last..."
Well, that is Peighton.
At any given pig show this season if she didn't stand first in showmanship, she stood DEAD LAST.
This girl has come a long way!
Way to Go, RB!

Thursday brought another sweltering day and the steer show.
It was her final show with Gus.

They both did a great job in the ring and ended the day with Reserve Champion Simmental.

Gus Boy and his funky head.

I'd say she had a great first fair!

The camper is cleaned out, the Thank you's are written and she's ready for her next big event...the STATE FAIR!!!!!
