FUNFETTI DIP!!!!!

Who doesn't love a good Funfetti recipe!

We are always looking for something fun to make for snack at our house.
I pinned THIS RECIPE on pinterest and knew we'd be making it soon!

With only 3 ingredients, it only took a few minutes to whip up which Peighton and Preston really appreciated!

FUNFETTI DIP

3 T Funfetti cake mix
2 T yogurt-we used vanilla
1 T Cool Whip

Mix the cake mix and yogurt together and then fold in Cool Whip.
We ate it with little graham cracker squares.
It would be awesome with fruit and animal crackers too!

We love the new bite-sized Honey Maid squares!

He loves to dip.
Doesn't really even matter what kind!

She's a dipper too!

I LOVE that this made just enough for us to eat in one sitting.
Most recipes make so much that we get tired of eating it and throw about half of it away.

I think other flavors of cake mix would be fantastic too-I'm thinking red velvet cake...

Homemade Granola

We eat a lot of cereal at our house.
One of our favorites is Granola...but it's kind of expensive and those small boxes don't last long around here!

I've tried a few recipes for homemade granola and have found our favorite!

Homemade Granola

5 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup sunflower kernels (I left these out-don't like them!)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup honey
2 T canola oil (I used olive oil-didn't have canola!)
1/2 t salt
1/2 t ground cinnamon
1 t vanilla
1 1/2 cups dried fruit (I had a bag of like 5 different mixed fruits that I dumped in.)
(apricots, raisins, cranberries, bananas, apples....etc.)

In large bowl, combine oats, almonds, sunflower kernels.

In saucepan, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, honey, oil, salt and cinnamon. Cook and stir over med heat until brown sugar is dissolved, 2-3 min.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Pour over oat mixture to coat.

Transfer to 15 x 10 in baking pan coated with cooking spray.
Bake at 350 for 20-25 min stirring every 8 min.
Cool completely.
Stir in dried fruit.
Store in airtight container.

YUM!

Polka dot clutch

I got this book in the mail last week:

Sew What You Love: The Easiest, Prettiest Projects Ever

Oh my are there some cute things in it!

My first project was some baby stuff but I still need to take pictures of that.
And I made that bag on the cover too...

Anyway, I whipped up this ADORABLE clutch yesterday!

Hot pink and orange.
Love it.

And the best part...it was really quick to make too!
Can't wait to take this cutie on a trip with me!

Sidewalk Chalk Painting = SO FUN!!!!!!

We have been LOVING the weather this week!
I hope it is here to stay.

Yesterday, we made Sidewalk Chalk Paint.
The kids had a BLAST!!! (and so did I...)
I had boughten some from Crayola last year and Peighton and I searched and searched for it again but never did find it.
Not sure if they still sell it or not but we won't be buying it again now that we know we can make our own!

I had seen the recipe on Pinterest and knew we'd be trying it out.

Here is the super hard recipe:
1 cup water
1 cup cornstarch
And some food coloring-that's IT!!!!!

The colors were very bright!

They dug right in and soon had the sidewalk covered.

Even when the colors mixed they were still really pretty.

I'm sure we'll be doing this over and over this summer!
And since it was so easy I know I won't mind!

Peeps Centerpiece

We love Peeps.
The Bunny ones seem to be our favorite ones...even though they are all made the same....the bunnies just taste better.

I saw a springy Peeps centerpiece on Pinterest and knew Peighton and I needed one!

I got some fake flowers, a round glass vase, pastel Skittles and of course bunny Peeps at Michaels.

Here's our masterpiece:

It is quite bright and springy in our kitchen!

The Melanie Bag

I can't resist a big bag that also cute.

When I saw this one I had to have it!

If you haven't been to I think Sew yet, you should.
Lots of great patterns that are pretty easy.

Here is the bright and springy one I made for myself:

Instead of a button I used a sparkly pin.
So, I had to sew the strap down permanently instead of just using the button to hold it together.

I can't wait to use it on my upcoming trips!
It is a pretty large bag...perfect for a day at the pool or beach.
There's plenty of room for all my gossip magazines in there!

Yogurt Parfaits made by the short ones!

Both of my kids love snacks.
Preston could make it an olympic sport.
He eats a lot.

For christmas I got some fun new cookbooks.

This one is from Williams Sonoma and has lots of great ideas for kids in it-most of which they can help make!
There is even a whole section of ideas for their lunch box.
We need to hit that section next-Peighton takes the same thing EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!

Peighton loves to help cook and Preston is starting to get in on the action too!

We chose a Yogurt Parfait recipe to make for our snack today.
Super easy and yummy too!

We gathered our ingredients:
strawberries
blueberries
pineapple
Cheerios (we were out of granola!!!!)
and yogurt

My happy helpers

Preston dug right in and was so happy that he was actually allowed to scoop and dump his food.

Peighton was a bit more organized with her layers.

He couldn't wait to take the first bite!
I think all he got on his parfait was yogurt and strawberries before he dug in!

Another successful snack time at our house!

I tested a swimsuit pattern!

I saw a picture on Facebook from Peek a boo pattern shop.
She was needing people to try out her swimsuit pattern before she listed it for sale.
I volunteered, of course!!!!
I was so excited to be able to test it!

And Miss Peighton was more than happy to model. ;-)
There is one more top option for the suit that I think we need to try....one can never have too many swimsuits.
The swim cap was part of the pattern too-is it not just adorable.

The pattern was VERY well written, easy and fun to make too.
I have my eye on a few other patterns in her shop that I might need to try!

She's so ready for summer.
