Well...we enjoyed the snow while it lasted!

These two couldn't wait to get outside after church Sunday morning!

They got right to work building a snowman.
The cats, Charlie and Cupcake, were their assistants.

Cupcake hung around the whole time.
Black blob = Cupcake.

They decided on a "Sinclair Tractor" hat for their snowman.
They came in for a hot chocolate break and went back out again!

That afternoon Santa came to West Chester!
We make sure to see him at Grandpa's school in West Chester each year.
There's crafts and snacks and Santa always brings a bag of goodies for the kids!

Peighton...super tall next to Santa!

Preston looks as big as Santa this year.

And of course, Christmas jammie pictures.

Love this one.
He really does love his sister.
She tolerates him.

The whole family.

Peighton is TEN!!!!

She's TEN!

And Awesome.
And Amazing.
And SO MUCH FUN!

I spent the better part of a day baking and decorating about 48 rainbow cupcakes.
They were awesome but it'll be awhile before I make them again!!!

The birthday girl wanted another skating party.

No complaints from this guy!
He is getting to be a really good little skater!

I loved when I looked over and saw the big girls helping Hayden!

Pretty sure this was the YMCA!

He's "fast like lightening."

LIMBO!
She didn't win but we all had fun!

Everyone loved their slice of the rainbow!

She has been working on her skating tricks and is getting awesome!

Super fun skating party celebrating our most favorite ten year old!

She's officially a 4-H'er!!!

She's been waiting for "real 4-H" for four years!
She loved every minute of Clover Kids but knew there were better things to come.

We've been talking about potential projects for awhile now.
She loves to look through the 4-H building at the State Fair each year and pick out her favorite things.

We finally had some time to make the "First Official Project!"
She made a fleece scarf all on her own.
On her own sewing machine as well.

We decided this was a practice one and will look great and keep her warm in the barn when she's washing heifers this winter.
But she's making a new one that will be a little bit better and more colorful for the fair!

This girl loves all things crafty and has so many more ideas for her first year in 4-H!

Happy Halloween!

We squeezed in a little pumpkin carving just in time for Halloween!

They decided we needed to use cookie cutters on their pumpkins this year.
We had to get out multiple tools to assist the process and I'm pretty sure we ruined a few cookie cutters!
But we had fun!

Peighton did not want a traditional jack-o-lantern and just hammered shapes into hers.
I think she liked the hammering.

Charlie the cat joined us for some pictures too.

SOCCER!!!!

This boy LOVES soccer!

He had another great season and is sad that it's already over!

He's an intense goalie.

He got quite a few good kicks in this year.
It's fun to see how much he has improved since last year!

LOVED watching him be the goalie!

He can't wait for next year!

A "Royally" Good Time at the American Royal!

We had a fantastic weekend showing at the American Royal for the first time!
It was a tough show but she held her own and showed her heifers like the champion that she is.

Dustin left with the heifers earlier in the week.
The kids and I left Friday after I picked them up early from school.

It's a 4 1/2 hour drive from our house.
They watched cartoons for ONE HOUR and then told me they were "SUPER BORED."
They aren't big TV watchers but I had hoped they would be just this once!
The next 3 1/2 hours were filled with Peighton making up the funniest games with random items from the back seat.
It was very entertaining and I wish I could have joined in!
They had me cracking up the whole way there.

I don't have any pictures of Preston and what he did all weekend but I wish I did!
At one point he was so dirty he had to be blown off with the blower that we use on the calves...including his hair...
He made a new friend that was his partner in crime all weekend.
We'll be seeing him at many more shows to come!

Peighton did a great job with Princess Anna once again.

These two have had a great year of shows.

A picture at the backdrop was a MUST.

Cinderella got to go on this trip too.

They did a good job for their first time.

One last trip back to the barn.

We didn't come home with any banners but we did bring home some ribbons she's pretty proud of and lots of great memories.
She told me on the way home she's ready to go again!

Preston Showed a bull and Peighton showed her heifer

About a month before the State Fair, Preston decided he wanted to show one of our bulls.

He had been given a sawed off show stick over the summer and was itching to put it to use.

Luckily we have a very tame and well behaved bull this year.

Peighton was going to show him but she agreed to let Preston give it a try.

He practiced with "Mr. Nelson" at home and was sure he could do it.

He told EVERYBODY he talked to about showing this guy on Friday.

He agreed to have "his assistant" Grandpa Dale, in the ring with him but he did just about everything on his own.

He did have to wear his sister's rhinestone harness which he was NOT happy about.
Probably time to get him his own.

He did such a good job.

I love this picture.
Dragging his bull around the ring with such confidence and drive.

Took his ribbon like a pro from his friend, Maddie, the beef princess.
His favorite part was that he beat Dustin in the ring.

The next day it was time for Peighton to show Princess Anna.

A few last minute words of encouragement from some of her biggest fans.

Maybe next year I'll be able to see her over the top!

Peighton did a great job showing Anna.
The judge gave her some nice compliments over the microphone about her showmanship skills.

She gets better each time she's in the ring.
She stood second in her class and went back in for the division champion.

Peighton had a great time and got to see some of her livestock friends.
She can't wait to do it again.

We're catching up on all the fair laundry and getting ready for school to start in a few days!
