Snow day FUN

Monday was too cold to go to school.

Preston was VERY excited to have Peighton spend the day with him!

 

There is a closet in our house that is FULL of art and craft supplies, games, special toys....at one point we had almost the ENTIRE closet empty!

I should have taken a picture of that-it was a big mess in the living room!

They were having so much fun though.

 

 

We happened to find a stash of glow sticks in there too!

 

We decided to fill the bath tub and add the glow sticks along with all sorts of other toys.

They had a lovely time in the dark!!!!

Lots of giggles and laughing.

 

 

 

Anytime Preston can shuck a few layers of clothes he is a happy boy!

 

It kept them entertained for quite awhile!



100 Days of School-it's a big deal!

Peighton's first grade class has been counting the days of school all year.

Today was FINALLY day 100!

 

They had to bring 100 items of their choice and dress like they were 100 years old.

 

So fun.

I can't wait to see pictures of the rest of her class!

 

 

 

For her 100 items we decided to make a rainbow out of 100 skittles complete with puffy, glitter clouds!

 

 

This morning she got Nellie and Minnie Mouse decked out in crazy glasses too.

 

She chose a crocheted shawl from her dress up box (that was mine as a child and made by my great grandmother!), LOTS of jewelry, glasses and a bun.

She has been so excited about this day!
I can't wait to hear all about it!!!!



We FINALLY built a snowman!!!!! (Obviously a few weeks ago!)

School was canceled today because of the bitter windchills...but it's fun too look at these pictures from a few weeks ago.
It has been so windy here we hardly have any snow left.
But I'm sure we'll get more soon!





Preston has been DYING to build a snowman!

 

But every time it snowed it just wasn't the right kind of snow.

 

 

 

 

We finally made a small one while Dustin was washing the bulls last weekend.

They both love their face masks-Preston pulls his up over his face and pretends to be a ninja.

It's pretty funny.

 

They both got snow paint for Christmas and we busted that out as well.

The red is not such a great color....it looked like someone died in the front yard...

 

And Peighton's favorite activity in the snow is going down the pile of snow.

 

Preston struggles to actually get up on top of it!



Too cold to go outside....

It is MUCH too cold to go outside today...or any day lately.

 

So, Preston and I decided to bring the snow INSIDE!!!!

 

Dustin's laundry room has a drain in the middle of the floor which makes it the PERFECT place to do this!

 

 

 

Preston LOVED it.

 

We put tractors, cows, a bucket and a bunch of bugs in it.

He moved snow just like he sees his Daddy doing.

 

Eventually, he went and found his snow gloves because his hands got cold.

 

Seriously, best idea we've had in a long time!

 

It's a bit of a science experiment too.

He keeps going back to check on it and see how much has melted.



SANTA and more christmas jammies...

One more Christmas post to get caught up!

 

Our tiny town of West Chester had the most amazing Christmas celebration this year!

We spoke with Santa, did some crafts and just had fun!

It was a lovely afternoon and I hope they do it again next year.

 

These two monkeys dug out Christmas pajamas from LAST YEAR!

They kinda still fit...but they were a whole lot shorter than a year ago.

 

Peighton and Nellie are never far apart these days.

 

Whenever I request a picture lately I am also required to let them do a silly face.

They really only have ONE silly face though.

We may need a pajama intervention. ;-)

 

At least we've moved onto Valentine's jammies now!!!!!!

 

 

 



CHRISTMAS!

These two had a GREAT Christmas.

Each year they get more and more fun!

 

 

We did a few pictures while we were waiting for Dustin to get done with chores.

 

 

Pretty sure somebody tooted here...

 

Not sure what evil he is planning here.

 

Preston made me a present at school this year.

He was SO EXCITED for me to open it!

Cutest thing ever.

 

Every boy needs a hunting blind!

 

Peighton got so many awesome things for Nellie!

 

One of his favorite things are his new Cars slippers.

He has worn them NON-STOP.

 

They are so cute when they actually get along!

 

Oh and Cars gloves....he loves those too.

Ready for Christmas at Grandma's house!

 

Santa came through with a GIANT bouncy house.

They spent most of the day in there the day after Christmas.

And yes, I have tried it out-SUPER FUN!!!!

 

 

A boy and his cattle shed

 

 

 

This is Bubba's "Wink."

He's special.

 

Dustin's Grandpa has been busy in his workshop!

He made an open front cattle shed for Preston's cattle farm.

 

He got it all set up with his cows, calves, bull and his bale ring.

He is one happy little cattle farmer.

 

He usually gives me the job of scooping the poop.

Looks like there will be a lot of it in my future!

Sleddin' in the Country

It FINALLY snowed "a whole bunch!"

 

 

These two were so excited to get out there and enjoy it.

 

Bubba is finally big enough to stay on the sled by himself.

 

They LOVE sledding behind the 4-wheeler.

Even when they get dumped off.

 

We also did a little hill sledding...but he was NOT a fan of dragging it back up!

 

Peighton could ride ALL DAY if her face didn't get cold!

She needs a face mask.

 

Preston decided to quit going down the hill and just ride along by this time.

 

Occasionally they do a few rounds together...but there are WAY more spills with both of them on there!

 

They even help with snow removal sometimes!

 

We are going to spend the next few days just LOOKING at the snow since it's going to be about 20 BELOW zero here.

Lots of time for inside craftiness and projects!
