We are in the homestretch of the kitchen/upstairs remodel!
The counters will come next week and then it will be DONE.
We currently have really nice ;-) plywood counters in the kitchen.

We started this project the first week of January.
We cooked and ate in the basement from January until March 19th.

It wasn't that bad considering I have a stove, microwave, fridge and garbage disposal (very important!) down there!
It did get a bit annoying to carry all the groceries down all those steps though.

We've been spending a lot of time downstairs while the mess was upstairs.
They love playing in Preston's hunting blind.
Cy doesn't care where we are as long as he is with all of us!
While the floor was being laid we did actually have to LIVE down there for one night though.
It was like a big slumber party!
It wasn't that bad...there are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and of course the whole kitchen.
It could have been worse. ;-)
The kids loved it and asked when we could do it again...
The two of them and their sleeping bags took over my sewing room.
Cy thought he might get to stay too...
They both slept very well and LOVED being down there all night!
I heard them giggling with each other about 6:15 though from across the hall.
We are all ready for it to be DONE!!!!
I had to go through the same thing and it was a nightmare. Hopefully, you managed to make it a unique experience for your family and made the best of it. Hopefully your remodeled kitchen was worth it. There is nothing more satisfying than transforming your home in such a way and being able to express yourself in the design of the house. Hopefully it looks beautiful. Best Wishes!
