Spring Break 2017...Drinks by the ocean...sand castles...and a foam party!

We had such a fun time on Spring Break this year!

We took the kids on their first trip to Mexico and had a BLAST!

The resort was fabulous.
There were shows at the pool everyday and shows at night too.
We attended a Madonna and Lady Gaga concert...the Hispanic version. ;-)
Peighton though it was amazing!

A few pictures from our week:

Preston kept us entertained at meals with his chopstick skills...and hot dogs.

We discovered mini lounge chairs.
They told me it would have been fun about 4-5 years ago to sit in these chairs!

The resort had a fantastic beach perfect for making sand castles.

This boy did not EVER tire of digging in the sand.
He made some AMAZING sand creations!

Both kids loved the hammocks by the beach.

Lots of playing in the waves.

When your mom is a teacher there is required reading on Spring Break.
She enjoyed doing her time in the hammock each day.

He found a love for fruity drinks on the beach.

Another of his castles, or maybe this one was his barn.

Preston had a few "moments" when we fondly referred to him as "The Angry Elf."
We had a lot of laughs about our little angry elf.
But it was usually short-lived and then he was back to being fun again.

There were grasshoppers on the menu one night!
Dustin was the only one that would try them...

Wiki Sticks are AMAZING for traveling!
Preston and I sat in first class on the flight to Mexico and they were in his lunch.
I will now be buying those for all future trips.
They were endlessly entertaining...especially for The Angry Elf.

Most of the time he was so much fun.

These two tried out snorkel gear.
Peighton loved it and used it all week long.
Preston's might have been too big for him and the water kept getting in and he got very frustrated.
Maybe next time.

Preston's favorite drink was the Miami Vice.
He had quite a few of them!

He really liked digging by the water...until the tide came in.

One of his best creations!
People walking by were impressed with his skills.

Peighton is and always has been a delightful travel companion.
She was so much fun with absolutely anything we did!

This one is just pure ornery boy.
But he kept us entertained and laughing.

Picture with year in the sand...must do.

Occasionally they even sat in the hammock together!

Lots of running in and out of the ocean!

It was really fun to watch him play in the water!

Preston only wanted to go out deeper when he was on Dustin's back.

One of the best parts about traveling during Spring Break were all the parties going on that week at the resort.
The kids attended their first Foam Party...along with numerous college kids.
It was SO MUCH FUN!

The pool was covered in foam while they swam about!

We looked for shells numerous times each day.
They found some really cool ones along with pieces of coral.

Cupcake and Sprite breaks were mandatory multiple times each day!

Before we left Preston told me he was going to search for Pirate's treasure.
When they were out on jet skiis a pirate ship sailed by!

Peighton LOVED the jet ski!

Cheers to a fabulous Spring Break with tons of wonderful memories.

We had so much fun with the kids.
It was certainly different than our usual trip to the beach but it was better in so many ways.

The kids can't wait to go back!

Beef expo 2017

It was a beautiful weekend for the Beef Expo!
We could not have asked for better weather.

One of the best parts this year was the craft contest!
Peighton entered a super cute bag and WON!
She's already planning what to make next year.

She had some of her biggest fans there cheering her on and helping her out.

Waiting to go into the ring...Dad and Grandpa making sure everything is perfect.

Miss Anastasia is Peighton's current fave.
Peighton loves her some red heifers.
She hugs her every time she's in the barn.

Peighton did a great job showing her.
Unfortunately, she chose to eat and drink very little the whole weekend-we've decided she's a bit of a picky princess.

Then there is Drizella.
She drank an entire bucket before going in and enjoyed the all-you-can-eat buffet!
She is the complete opposite of Anastasia.

Peighton did a great job with both of her girls.

It's been fun watching her confidence grow each time she steps in the ring!
Can't wait for the next one!

BEST Christmas break EVER!

We had the best Christmas break ever.
These two are so much fun right now.
Peighton had a list of activities for us to do over break and we almost got to all of them!

Peighton had 4 teeth pulled the day they got out of school, but she was still up for ice skating on Christmas Eve, two days post teeth!

She has become quite good at ice skating!

Preston has improved a ton since the last time we went!

Christmas morning gets better each year.

Peighton had a really hard time thinking of anything she needed this year.
She finally came up with a few items.
One was a hot pink show comb.

Another was a rhinestone covered halter-LOVE.
It's hard to see in the picture but the sides are covered in glittery stones.

And Santa threw in a hot pink water bucket too!

She will be hard to miss in the barn and the show ring this year.

He wanted a real cowboy hat-he still has a thing for bull riding.
He got a semi with a grain hopper from Santa but I must have missed a picture with that.

Preston also asked Santa for camo gloves...Cy enjoyed them as well.

New chairs for camping and showing got delivered as well.
They were great for Christmas snacking too!

All the boys got a service truck like Tish from Grandma Sue!
Suddenly EVERYTHING is broke down and needs repaired.

Then we headed to Fun City for a night of FUN!
Go Carts, Laser Tag, more go carts and swimming were some of the faves.

We had to grab a quick Icee before we were done.

On New Years Eve we decided to take the kids skiing for the first time!

Preston was SUPER mad at me here because I made him wear a face mask under his helmet.
I'm pretty sure he appreciated it eventually while he was skiing. ;-)

They both did amazingly well and had so much fun in Ski School!
They loved skiing as well as the hot chocolate break and riding from slope to slope behind a 4-wheeler with tracks!

They both said they are ready to go again!
I think a trip to the mountains is in our future!

Now they are back to school-they were both ready.

Well...we enjoyed the snow while it lasted!

These two couldn't wait to get outside after church Sunday morning!

They got right to work building a snowman.
The cats, Charlie and Cupcake, were their assistants.

Cupcake hung around the whole time.
Black blob = Cupcake.

They decided on a "Sinclair Tractor" hat for their snowman.
They came in for a hot chocolate break and went back out again!

That afternoon Santa came to West Chester!
We make sure to see him at Grandpa's school in West Chester each year.
There's crafts and snacks and Santa always brings a bag of goodies for the kids!

Peighton...super tall next to Santa!

Preston looks as big as Santa this year.

And of course, Christmas jammie pictures.

Love this one.
He really does love his sister.
She tolerates him.

The whole family.
