First days of the school year... a little bit late.

The kids first days of school came right after the State Fair!

 

 

 

 

Peighton was super excited to start third grade and see all her friends again.

She insisted on a picture with her favorite pup.

 

 

 

 

Preston started school the next week.

He is doing 5 year old preschool this year and loving every minute of it!

 He likes that he goes every day this year, like Peighton.

 

I like that it's only half days and we still get to do fun stuff in the morning and have lunch each day together!

 

He was talking about kindergarten next year and I asked him what I was going to do all day without him.

His reply..."Well, you'll finally have some peace and quiet!"



SCHOOL'S OUT (I'm a little behind)

Preston finished school about a week before Peighton did.

 

 

He had an awesome last day!

 

He had an amazing teacher this year!

 

When he grows up he wants to be a policeman.

 

They had a very fun little graduation ceremony and then a hot dog lunch afterwards!

 

Peighton's last week of school was such fun!
The whole school did a color run!
I wish I could have been there for that.

 

The last day is always a potluck lunch and lots of fun.

She had a GREAT year in 2nd grade.

Preston FINALLY got his first day of school!

Preston was supposed to start school last Monday....but then they let school out early due to the heat.

So, I had one sad little boy when his first day of school was cancelled!

 

We had our pictures all done and everything!

 

 

 

He was very excited he FINALLY got to wear his new shoes!

 

Peighton was very excited for his first day.

She has been telling him all about school for weeks now.

 

He is just so darn cute.

 

 

 

 

 

After the first day was a bust we tried again the next day!

 

 

 

When he gets there each day he has to find his bucket and do the activity inside it while everyone arrives.

He's always excited on the drive to school to find out what his bucket will hold!

 

The first day was one of our favorites: Play-doh and knives!

 

He is LOVING school and playing with is new buddies each day.

 



First day of SECOND grade!

After our crazy two weeks at the state fair it was time to start school.

 

This girl was so excited for the first day!

 

Her bag has been packed for weeks.

 

I think Preston was just as excited for her first day so it could just be "me and him."

I don't think he stopped talking at all that day.

I guess there was no one to interrupt him and he had lots to say!

 

He starts preschool next week and he can't wait!

100 Days of School-it's a big deal!

Peighton's first grade class has been counting the days of school all year.

Today was FINALLY day 100!

 

They had to bring 100 items of their choice and dress like they were 100 years old.

 

So fun.

I can't wait to see pictures of the rest of her class!

 

 

 

For her 100 items we decided to make a rainbow out of 100 skittles complete with puffy, glitter clouds!

 

 

This morning she got Nellie and Minnie Mouse decked out in crazy glasses too.

 

She chose a crocheted shawl from her dress up box (that was mine as a child and made by my great grandmother!), LOTS of jewelry, glasses and a bun.

She has been so excited about this day!
I can't wait to hear all about it!!!!
