Play Food!

We love felt food at our house.
It's fun, easy to make and cheap too!
Peighton really loves it when she's cooking too.

I recently discovered that I can do really cute ones on my embroidery  machine!
Seriously, what can this machine NOT do????

We started out with some Swiss cheese and Ritz crackers.
There are also square crackers in this set but we didn't get to them.

Then we moved onto Chocolate Animal crackers!
Aren't they adorable!!!!

And our personal fave....goldfish.
Who doesn't love the snack that smiles back at you?!??!?!
There is supposed to be a cute bag to keep these in as well but that file didn't come through for some reason and I'm trying to get that worked out with the site I bought it from.

We also made really cute Smores...but those got stolen before I had a chance for a picture.
Those are super cute though so I'm going to have to sneak them away.

Meatballs

Peighton is pretty picky about what meats she will and will not eat.
So, I try to break out of our chicken nugget, hot dog, and corn dog rut once in awhile!

Meatballs are one thing that she LOVES.

We tried out a new recipe this week and it was a hit.

Meatballs

1 lb ground beef or ground pork, I used ground pork because we have a freezer full of it!
1/3 cup cracker crumbs
1 1/2 t worcestershire sauce
1 small can evaporated milk
1 envelope dry onion soup mix

Sauce:
2 cups ketchup
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 t dry mustard
4 t vinegar

Mix meat and ingredients all together.
Form into balls and place in pan.
Combine sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min.

I thought it made a LOT of sauce but I guess that's better than not enough sauce!!!

And we were so hungry we had no time for pictures!
So, here's some cute ones of Preston instead-he's working on his farming skills here.

Tickle Sticks

Peighton and I LOVE cooking together.

So that means we have quite a few kid cookbooks at our house.
They are usually very easy recipes and most have the directions in both pictures and words.

I love it because so much LEARNING goes on and she doesn't even know it.

One of our faves is a Sesame Street one with recipes from Elmo, Cookie, Zoe and Big Bird.
Elmo's recipes are all red. She thinks that's funny.

Yesterday she chose his Tickle Sticks recipe.
I think she mostly liked the name of it.

Super easy and you really only need two things:

Watermelon
Yogurt

Cut the watermelon into sticks and dip into the yogurt.

What a great summer treat for a hot day!

A sweet little baby gift

My mom asked me to make a cute baby gift for an upcoming baby shower.

She wanted a little blankie and "something else."

I decided my newfound favorite baby accessory would be the perfect addition to a little blankie.
It's The Tiny Clutch from The Tiny Seamstress!
It makes the perfect diaper and wipes holder for your diaper bag!

And it's super cute no matter where you pull it out to clean up the wonderful messes babies make.

I think it turned out fabulously!

Kinda want another one of my own now...
